Kinja is still fucked, and gets it jollies by taking the piss out of the commentators: you post one jpg in a reply, and YOU SEE IT in the preview of the reply, than you collapse the reply and the picture is gone! GONE! If you copy and paste the URL of the image placeholder, it gets a "page not found error". like this one:
Then you reply to your reply with antother pic, you see it in the preview, you collapse the reply and the pic is there. Kinja must die with fire.
EDIT: Don't understand shit. The pic is back. There are things in life that exceed our abilty of comprehension.

Don't worry. It will get fixed.
And something else will be broken in its place.
This is the way of the Kinja.

Take it up with Ernie. He is the man in charge. . . Or at least he was on launch. He apparently values our opinions. . . Not joking there, I just wish it were true. Why can't they just leave shit alone?

I think I remember them saying Kinja would make for better commenting from mobile devices. Well, guess what? It doesn't. I'm stuck using an iPad for much of the forseeable future (it is a very, very long story) and I can't upload more than one picture in a post, I can't even see the picture I uploaded in case I need to check and I can't tell where in the post is the picture going to appear either. In fact, I can't even tell how much spacing I've put between words easily as I type. No linking either (at least from the editor page). So much for "the best version of our editor"...

The mobile editor also breaks hashtags used for hashtag snarkiness.

Having all the same troubles.. On a side note the mobile is a little better than the desktop version for browsing latest post.

Like Squid says, get up with Ernie. I've found that if I tag a post Kinja Help and put his name in the title he's been very responsive. Not that he can make wholesale format changes - I reckon that's way above his pay grade...

There's probably something slightly less like black magic going on there than it seems. I think when you upload/link a pic, it's locally cached as well as added to Kinja's database. Seems to take a few (tens of?) seconds for the picture to hit the database and be ready to access. Until then, you see it in situations where it's still using the locally cached version, but not when you try to load it.
Let's add a picture to test.
Edit: Oh well, worked perfectly that time.

It happens every so often, the image processor takes a bit longer than usual to process whatever image has been pasted. This will show broken images at first, which are usually automatically corrected after a minute or two. If that time has passed and the image isn't corrected, resave the post. If you see it happen often, please let us know .
